TMP System SW HW V3.4 & 3.6
DEFORMATION
Inclinometry
Description:
TMP was designed to operate along with Applied Geomechanics series 701-X or compatible electronic Tiltmeters. The working principle of the Tiltmeter is an electrolitic sensor similar to a bubble level but more accurate. When a change in the inclination angle occurs, the sensor resistance changes. These variations are then translated to a voltage difference. The TMP digitizes the voltage variations and converts them into data which are sent to the processing base for its further interpretation.
This methodology was developed for helping in monitoring and watching of volcanic and tectonic deformation. In the new equipment SW HW TMP 3.8 this application (IN) is replaced by Volcanic Station (EV).
