Description:
TMP was designed to operate with SERCEL seismometers model L-4C (1Hz) or L-4-3D (1Hz) or compatible. The operating principle of this sensor is based on the Faraday induction law, which predicts that a change of magnetic flux through a conductor cable flux generates a voltage. The sensor has a magnet which functions as a mass spring system is surrounded by a coil on which the voltages that are analogous to the movement of the ground caused by tectonic or volcanic induced seismicity.
The TMP digitizes the voltage variations and converts data, which are sent by telemetry processing base for interpretation in the appropriate units. The methodology of short period seismology, is a major tool in studies of tectonic and volcanic monitoring and surveillance.
