Seismic Acquisition
DEMSW Version 1.2
DEMSW for Windows 98 to Windows XP and now uses the full power of a PC to process seismic data sent from field in a low-frequency FM format (audio) . Standardized frequencies are 680, 1020, 1360 , 1700, 2040 , 2380, 2720 and 3060 Hz Physically, DEMSW take each audio channel of a PC (right-left ) and separates the different subcarriers via digital filters operating at 44,100 Hz in real time. In this way, software demodulates the transmitted seismic signal . DEMSW is the best choice when digital seismic acquisition of low cost and good quality. This last version 1.2 is based on a new set Chebyshev filter to attenuate inverted contiguous frequency ( 36 dB ) at a sampling rate of 12 bit . This is done in 5 steps biquad thirteen elements.
Version 1.2 has improved the allocation of directories automatically activated sixteen networks to detect writable files a minute to sixty minutes , and four screens for digital recorders (multi - monitor option of Windows 98 and XP)
The DEMSW is designed to be used in monitoring tectonic and volcanic seismicity since it is a clone of the acquisition system XDECT16.EXE the USGS, but it works on a sound card of a PC eliminating conventional discriminators and acquisition cards data. The software is very useful for field maintenance processes as installed on a notebook can be used to view real-time seismic signal.
